Although other shots featured the industrial environment more, this one was the one that had the most emotional impact for me, and that’s what’s important in a photograph to me. My 1998 portrait of French/Swiss actress Irène Jacob on the set of "The Big Brass Ring" which was directed by George Hickenlooper from an Orson Welles and Oja Kodar script. It was a treat getting to photograph Irène because I was a big fan of her work in Krzysztof Kieślowski's "Three Colours: Red".

I shot these images of Bernie Dexter in 2003 just north of San Diego. I believe this was around the time she first started taking modeling seriously. I'm glad Bernie has come a long way since those early days. Shot with my Mamiya 645 with existing light.

Rob Reiner, the son of a pioneering television comedian who became a popular sitcom actor himself before directing a slate of beloved films, including “This Is Spinal Tap,” “When Harry Met Sally …” and “The Princess Bride,” died on Sunday. He was 78.

This 2012 photo was taken in an uninteresting hotel room in Desert Hot Springs. Faced with an utterly plain environment, I had to get creative. The single hanging lamp was the only source of visual interest (and light), so I took the opportunity to truly test the Nikon D200’s high ISO performance.
