In an attempt to slow myself down and focus on making small art as well as rekindling the habit of writing letters and postcards to my friends I've given myself the exercise of making collage postcards out of the day's junk mail. This was an ACLU magazine.

I had the opportunity to work with Garbage many times and it was always a pleasure to spend time with them. They couldn't have been a nicer bunch. Happy Birthday to, the always demure, Shirley Manson 🖤

I was recently reminded of this band "Geraldine Fibbers" and a brilliant album they put out in 1995, "Lost Somewhere Between the Earth and Home" which reminded me of this beautiful photoshoot we did for AP magazine. Shot somewhere outside of Chicago

I love when the world shows me art on the way to the grocery store. We’ll be extinct soon but there’s still beauty all around us. Take the time to notice it before we’re gone.

I had the opportunity to photograph Brian Wilson for Raygun Magazine. He was gracious but overwhelmed by the attention of the press. He loved making music but struggled with the attention it brought him. I’m very sorry to hear of his passing. Rest in peace, sir. Thank you for the music 🖤

Many years ago I spent an afternoon making photos with Jeff Buckley. His father Tim, also a singer, had died very young and it occurred to me how odd it must feel to be older than your dad. Just a few years later , May 29, 1997, Jeff himself died far too young. RIP young man

I had the pleasure of speaking to Kumi after having lost contact for quite a few years. Here is a photo we did years ago that hasn't seen the light of day in some time. This is Kumi as Zheng Yi Sao, Head of the Chinese pirate confederation that terrorized the South China Sea from 1795-1810

I had the honor of photographing Dead Can Dance for three days in Prague. We did a photo session by the river for a magazine cover and feature story and I also accompanied them to interviews and other press events. At one point I was sitting on the floor and noticed Lisa's hands

Happy Birthday to longtime friend Midori. Fun fact: this was the FIRST photo on the FIRST roll of film of our FIRST shoot together - the Chinatown shoot for So Hip It Hurts which is when I also met Kumi for the FIRST time. It's very fitting for a post on May FIRST!
