Kevin O’Connell said Donovan Jackson had surgery in Los Angeles this morning on a wrist injury he suffered against the Falcons. Doctors determined he could play against the Bengals before the surgery without additional harm; the surgery timeline was planned last week.

Carson Wentz will get “another opportunity” to start for the #Vikings against the Steelers, Kevin O’Connell said, as J.J. McCarthy recovers from his high ankle sprain.

Kevin O’Connell said Javon Hargrave had a chest/rib contusion, and could have come back if needed. Christian Darrisaw could have continued, as well, but O’Connell said the #Vikings got exactly what they wanted from the left tackle’s snap count.

Kevin O’Connell said J.J. McCarthy is “kind of through the initial wave,” of rehab, “getting swelling down and all those things.” The coach said McCarthy wore a walking boot as he stood next to O’Connell for practice. He didn’t have the boot on as he was walking through the building after practice.

Christian Darrisaw called it “50-50” if he’ll play Sunday. “I want to be out there, but I know I got to be smart on my way back out there,” he said. “Just really work my way back out there when I'm ready.”
