In another world, someone at SONY got inspired by TASBot speedruns and convinced the company to make user submitted TAS a native feature instead of this slop. Having trouble with a boss? Turn on the TAS and watch Aloy glitch halfway into the boss before demolishing it with goof physics.

Like so many of us, I *clearly* remember watching the violent attempt to overthrow democracy, live, in real time & unedited on TV after reading, hearing & seeing months of clear, intentional steps toward that goal on this day.

We're stoked to introduce the 'No Gen AI' seal for indie games! Indie devs can use it on their game's store page to assure potential players that their game was made without the use of Generative AI. You can grab it from the Polygon Treehouse website:-

What’s the best Power Rangers series? My wife & I discovered we can pick up complete collections for cheap and are trying to narrow things down to like… 3? I’ve never seen any of them other than the OG movie + weirdly decent modern one, so I’m kinda lost here.

Boardgame #2 of 2026: Wonderland's War! It's a competitive area control boardgame with a really unique bagbuilding system in lieu of rolling dice/drawing cards. You have 3 sets of 4 rounds to accumulate as much power as possible, each punctuated with a battle at the end for dominance & VP.

Played Bitoku for New Years Eve and had a surprisingly good time with it. We'd previously held off on playing because the board is daunting to look at and the learning curve is steeper than most- but once we got rolling it was a solid Kitchen Sink + Point Salad Euro.

I really wish interviewers would ask these people how they would feel if 80% of potential buyers pirated their games instead. They’d be singing a wildly different tune, I wager. CEO’s certainly were 10-20 years ago, so this type of defense of the plagiarism machine always feels super weak to me.

I keep seeing folks say “gamers hating AI” are going to cause the pendulum to swing back hard and people will end up loving AI. Nah, the bubble will pop and almost everyone will move on like NFT’s. The tech won’t survive if you have to constantly force everyone to use it.

I'm glad Sandfall finally explained the AI generated textures in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. I really, really wish they hadn't waited for 8 months to do so, and may not have done so at all if the IGA's hadn't pulled their GotY award. That level of silence speaks volumes.

The fact that the games industry is so dead-set on disregarding Concept Art as being part of the game it helps make is eternally frustrating to me. If the slop machine extrudes a design for you that you then force an artist to make "real", that still means there's AI generated content in the game.

Using genAI for concept art is so fucking stupid because like... that's where you get the cool shit. Thats the blue sky phase where artists make pieces of art that will be seen by a teenager later and change their life forever. Why would you want to start from mediocre. Why would you do that.

Grab your stars folks. That and go play Ikenfell, Secret Agent Wizard Boy or read Mother of Learning instead of feeding Rowling’s terf-supporting garbage. Because even if it’s free for you, it’s still money in her pocket from Epic and just as much encouragement to keep being horrible.

Sorry I think using AI for placeholders is also bad ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I know you only care about finished art but placeholder art also needs to be made by a human being who also needs to be paid for that But placeholder midjourney slop cuts that artist out

The problem is that so many people put “Indie” on the same scalar plane as AA and AAA, when it isn’t. Small games should be Single A or something. That way indie can actually mean independent, rather than small, low budget, cheap, etc…
