#OnThisDay in 1982, the Royston Bypass opened. Costing £8 million, the 4 mile stretch of road ran from Baldock Road to Newmarket Road, diverting traffic from the centre of town. Dr Nicolls in his vintage Argyle was the first person to drive down the bypass.

We've had a great afternoon with a group of home-ed families exploring Roman Britian and whether or not there was a Roman settlement in Royston (spoiler: there wasn't). We also played some Roman games and made our own mosaics.
