Spaces for kids have been destroyed or re-worked into stores, adult spaces aren't allowed to be actually "adult" lest we anger the CC companies, and supposedly neutral spaces are full of gambling/porn ads, disinformation, and right-wing pipelines. An internet that is increasingly not for anyone.

This "learning curve" we all talk about when it comes to making avatars only exists because we as a community insist on new users immediately jumping to modern mesh. Using the system av is pretty easy, and there are thousands and thousands of free items that work with it.

Don't shame them on your socials. Don't reach out to "help" them upgrade their avatar or "fix" their shape unless they're explicitly asking for help figuring things out. It's insane to me that the FOUNDER of SL of all people is being avatar-shamed into updating his historic, iconic look. Just sad.

You are not owed a world of your aesthetic. The beauty of second life is that we can all express ourselves in any way we like. The classism that exists on SL mirrors RL and it's just as gross there as it is IRL. See an av you don't like? Look the other way or just deal. #secondlife
