Yea for me it feels like 2 places going in very opposite directions. Nah. That’s honestly not what I’m after. I actually like coming across people I disagree with. It allows me to either strengthen my own position or consider where I might need to reevaluate my position. Only time I don’t want someone in my feed is if they’re disrespectful to me personally.

Yep! BlueSky has got to shed that walking on eggshells feeling and it’s entirely possible to do that.

Reopened my BlueSky today for the first time in a while. I want to support the app but I’m just drained of the internet lacking a safe space for nuanced thought. I’ve watched this app tear down and shun people for takes that were fairly mild and that sucks. A space simply can’t grow that way.

Man. So my dad worked for the VA until he retired in 2012. I was pretty much raised around the VA my whole life. He is a veteran himself (as a lot VA employees tend to be) and it’s scary to think about how what’s happening today is affecting real people with real lives.

My son broke the right temple to his glasses the other day and we can’t get him in to get a new pair until Friday. So he used his 3D printer to make a new one and it actually holds up. I’m extremely impressed.
