There’s a particular lighter growth of facial hair which I find hits me as strongly Dom as a thick beard some days. It’s much more difficult to render, because it doesn’t have the hard shape / edges, but what’s my little wanky internet doodle account for if not to try?

Ref I used for today’s quick sketch attempt had a car. I’m not trying to sketch a *car in under an hour when I can barely managed a serviceable person (pun partially intended?), so it’s shadow car for this bubba.

The ongoing internal debate as to whether I block the “random uncredited images” accounts as soon as they cross my feed, or leave them visible in case someone I know or I happen to be the next stolen “golly I just found this somewhere can’t possibly remember where” image they post.

Last few days, been trying to focus on “quick” sketching, seeing what I can manage in ~ an hour. Trying to get a flow that lets me get the blocks of the image in a good, readable place so I can spend more time on the finishes rather than the finishes being a slog because I spent 4 hrs on the base.

Boss has some ideas about ideal bow tie placement.

Happy tummy Tuesday, folks. Since I’ve got you here, commissions question: do folks who commission mostly ask for likeness-strong commissions (“draw me / my partners in X context”), or are folks doing a reasonable amount of OC / type / design types? I’m bad at the former, pondering the latter.

Folks who do kink / kink adjacent commissions: what’s the balance of likeness-dependent commissions (“draw me / my partner in X context”) vs other stuff? I’m very vaguely toying with the idea, but my facility with likeness varies enough that I probably would only offer that with heavy caveats.

Because I think it’s enough drift that I don’t want to co-opt someone else’s point by diverting too far, I’ll split off to say: I think there are valid questions about whether studios / publishers trade in marginalized pain in unfair ways. 1/6
