I feel better emotionally, but I'm still so tired

It's amazing how many friendships drastically change once you open about being in the process of converting to Judaism. The antisemitism leaps out at you from people who were completely okay with you being trans or marginalized in some other way. It's crazy.

Once I've been to services a few times and get more familiar with the community, I'm thinking about volunteering to be a greeter. Apparently they're trying to get one last second because they don't hold services without them.

I'm pretty sure that Just Von guy everybody's been responding to is just a troll. He has a Twitter account where he's said much worse things about Jews, even going as far to say that Jews need to leave the US, and just likes to rile people up. Block and move on.

The most important thing I've learned during my conversion journey is that you can't make me divide entire groups of people between good and bad. Especially not my own people. As Elie Wiesel said, all collective judgments are wrong. Only racists make them.

I remember reading a section in a book about Mitzvot that argued that when you're obligated to do something, you do it more often than somebody who does it once in a while to feel good about themselves. Helping people is about being disciplined enough to keep doing it, not being praised for it.
