Dry weather continues in the Houston area for the foreseeable future with warm to hot afternoons and pleasant mornings. Drought is expanding in Houston, and with that comes elevated wildfire risk, particularly today north and east of Houston. Thankfully, winds look generally light on land. #houwx

Two major U.S. weather events will unfold in the coming days: A coastal storm in the East will whip up wind, surf, and rain from North Carolina to southern New England. In the Southwest, heavy rainfall with tropical moisture will lead to significant flash flooding concerns Friday and Saturday.
