Well that night's sleep was... decidedly "meh." I think fireworks made it more difficult and the dreams that happened didn't help (though I can't really recall them.) 🙃

This year I'm going to ask y'all to try to do three things. 1. Learn how to ask for help without shame. 2. Learn how to tell folks that you don't have the ability or space to help without shame. 3. Learn how to accept a no without taking it personally. These things have helped me greatly.

As the near year approaches, do you have resolutions? I know that they aren't often taken too seriously but they can be fun. For me: 1. Engage more. I keep to myself too much and don't reach out to people I'd like to talk to. 2. Cut. I want to eat better and cut back down a bit. 3. Sleep more.

Managed to get Gus Gus into an earlier vet appointment due to a cancellation so he has had his shot already. I am glad because that gives him a 4-Hour jump on feeling better.

Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up. I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

I'm going to try to unwind the best that I can to sleep but I know it's not going to happen right now.

Also just feeling a little off today.

Have an appointment for Gus Gus for tomorrow so that he can receive another steroid injection for his lungs to stop his asthma attacks for another month or so. I feel really bad for him and I can tell he's having a rough go he's last couple of days since the last one wore off.

To anyone who might need to hear this right now: Remember that even if only ONE person enjoys the content that you create—YOU ARE SUCCESSFUL. Don't get lost in the numbers. Just create what makes you happy. Someone out there is going to LOVE what you make! And a little is a lot if it's enough.

This is a really good point that I had not run into before: these "creators" have no further insight into their alleged creation than the average audience member and that is why it cannot be called art (besides all the other obvious reasons).
