Recently I’ve been messing around with what music could sound like for Poké Transporter GB! I want to have callbacks to the Dream World & other transfer methods, and this is one of the arrangements I came up with. It’s very crudely put together atm, but I think it has potential! What do you think?

After pondering it for a bit, I think I've come up with a solution! Since I'm doubling the DVs to get the IVs, there is always room to increase them by one value. (ie 15->30 or 31). If I check for both 2(DV) and 2(DV)+1, that gives me 36 more chances for what I'm looking for to exist.-

So here’s another thing I’m stuck on for Poke Transporter GB- when it comes to the transfer methods that don’t generate 100% legal Pokemon, is it worth it to calculate a PID IV match? If the goal is to be as faithful to the Gen 1/2 Pokemon, it might not be possible to have an exact PID IV match

A thought about Poké Transporter GB I had today while transferring things up for testing: All of the Pokemon games pre-Bank only let you transfer 6 Pokemon at a time. PTGB does a full box- if I changed that to only 6, I could fit a ton more in the custom event. But the QoL of a full box is nice…

For whatever reason I’ve gotten my mind set on making the Magikarp lengths given by the Fishing Guru at the Lake of Rage in GSC the same as the ones given by the similar NPCs in FRLG and HGSS… Does this have any point? No- Will anyone ever notice? No- Is it a stupid problem I want to solve? Yes

I’m currently working on a way to convert Stat Experience to EVs for PTGB and- it isn’t reasonable to go over 510 EVs total, right? Even though it’s possible within the data structure, it absolutely wouldn’t transfer to Bank/HOME- but it *would* give the exact stats as the Gen 1/2 Pokemon had…

New setup... 100% chance of working from a fresh save file. 1.5 hours saved over the previous setup. Also made it so the bootstrap installs Mystery Gift ACE immediately.

Since I can access the Gen 3 ROM data at any time, I can use any sprites from RSE/FRLG without taking up any precious space in my ROM! I'm trying to decide if I should swap the Gen 2 style box sprites for the Gen 3 ones~ Part of me wants to keep the older style, but it *would* save space. Thoughts?

One of the things I keep going back and forth on for Poké Transporter GB is whether or not to include a minigame as part of the transfer process. It’s very much in line with Gen 4 and 5’s process, but I know they’re not everyone’s cup of tea. I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts!

This!! I started messing around with ACE long before I had any formal schooling in CS. In fact, a large part of the reason I went into CS was because of my silly Pokemon passion projects. Believing in yourself and exploring passion projects is just as -if not more- important than “formal teaching”

Definitely need to fix the audio, but I’m pretty happy with this!! I have a few more tricks up my sleeve as well that I’m planning on implementing this weekend 👀
