I'm mad about the shut down and worried about healthcare, but not letting people starve is a pretty good reason to cave on this bureaucratic fight, the more I think about it. So just say that: Republicans wanted you to starve rather than compromise, so we let this one go.

East Wing fully gone. I don’t think people realize what this feels like for DC. They are mad for the nation, which is so valid. But like, imagine if they just like tore down part of the Empire State Building or something, or like painted the Golden Gate Bridge a different color.

I think it’s a little odd to be more open — whether as pure “resistance” or as a means of fighting “oligarchy” — to candidates with Nazi tattoos than to candidates like Jared Golden who take moderate stances on public policy issues.

Democrats should be drawing up legislation right now, this very minute, to bar Trump from helping himself to $230 million in taxpayer funds from DOJ. Challenge Republicans to hold a vote on it. Push this so hard in the media that every GOP Senate and House candidate is pressed to comment on it.

That Pritzker press conference was... surreal, and I think marks a significant moment of escalation in the constitutional omni-crisis. This was the governor of a state saying plainly the Union itself is being torn apart and his state is being militarily invaded by an authoritarian regime.
