Indie animators incorporating what they grew up with (anime, video games, etc) is no different than how movie directors incorporated aspects of the films that influenced them. We all put our influences into our art. It's what artists do.

as someone who loves REJECTED & used to love asdfmovie, i can't help but feel like the latter has fallen off. or maybe i've just outgrown it's humor

I think when people are complaining about a project being "gooner slop", 90% of the time the issue lack of body diversity (ie women being cookie cutter with big tits and a perfect hourglass shape). I think we should start re-framing discussions in terms of this and not how "sexualized" projects are

"why do people harass indie creators more than big studios" why does the worst person you know kick small puppies instead of kicking their jacked as shit neighbor down the street, the world may never know

and regarding TADC—i was excited for it from day one. i was already a big fan of gooseworx’s videos and the premise of wacky cartoon characters going through unimaginable horrors hooked me knowing the type of bizarre humor she excelled at. but now with everything going on dunce the trailer dropped-

as a former TADC and MD fan (and someone currently excited to see where KOG goes) it’s kinda upsetting to see how hating glitch productions is the cool new bandwagon when only months ago people were praising it as one of the leading figures in indie animation
