Awesome @chessiecrime.bsky.social talk today with author and former cop Mark Bergin. “If all we were doing was writing the real world, it's boring. So we write fiction, we create conflict, we create surprise circumstances. And in so doing, we entertain—and we try not to make it too unrealistic."

Ed Aymar gave a great presentation on the history of DC crime fiction last week as part of the DC Reads program. Loved hearing him read a few excerpts from his latest crime fiction novel, "When She Left,” with accompaniment by local jazz musician Sara Jones!
