a niche program i need is actually in nixpkgs! unfortunately its an older version thats broken so time to fork nixpkgs fix it, test it and make a pr!

after a few hours of nuking arch for nixos on my daily driver and i have already learned one thing theres an easy way and a hard way for every single little thing like writing it in a nix file or just straight in .config and my personality is generally to just take the easy way and roll with it

i was using firefox new global menu enabled with widget.gtk.global-menu.wayland.enabled on arch but it looks like theres no way to easily get it to work on nixos it looks like it requires appmenu-gtk-module but there is only a 5 year old rejected pr and no package 🥹

i might give nixos a second chance this weekend
