Now watching. I read bad reviews but any movie with Steve Zahn AND Amanda Peet can't be bad, and it isn't. I can't believe I've never seen this before.

Now watching. If it's possible for a movie to be cute, sweet and raunchy at the same time, this is it. Aubrey Plaza is great as usual but the whole cast is awesome.

My Early Amanda Peet film festival continues, though she's not in it much. (Mostly) twentysomethings at a NYE party, 1999. Eclectic cast including Jennifer Garner, Steven Wright and Buck Henry. Very low budget but better than I expected.

Just watched this. Don't know how I never saw it before. Really depressing and Meg Ryan's character was annoying AF, in a different way than usual. I usually don't watch Kiefer Sutherland (except in Freeway; that's a classic) but he was good in it too.

Just finished this new audiobook. It's awesome. There was a lot of Jan and Dean in it which is fine with me!

Just watched Marie & Bruce (2004). Weird movie. I love Julianne Moore and it was based on a play by Wallace Shawn who I love even more. If you like them or Matthew Broderick it's worth seeing.

I'm in the middle of watching a bunch of early Amanda Peet movies. They're all bad, some worse than others. This one, Origin Of The Species, has the bitchy niece from Uncle Buck, so there's that.

Just watched. I've seen her in several things, but for some reason I never noticed just how good Naomi Watts is. This is a really great drama.

Now watching. Haven't seen this since it came out. It's just as funny as I remember. Kevin Kline's funniest movie IMO with the exception of Soapdish but since he's the obvious star of this one, it's his funniest.

Just watched Brewster McCloud. I'm embarrassed I'd never seen it, despite loving Bud Court in Harold and Maude and Houston being my hometown. I was 1 when it was filmed and the city and Astrodome are are much cleaner and nicer than when I was growing up. It's like Wes Anderson before Wes Anderson.

My wife is leaving for Venice Saturday. Since I'm not going I'm watching movies set there.

Morrissey is 67 today. He's not my very favorite artist, but I'm not sure of one that has affected my life more, aside from The Beach Boys. I discovered both at pivotal parts of my life and I sometimes wonder how different I'd be if I hadn't.

Watched this last night. I had never heard of it until a week ago. Surprisingly good. I got it because I'll watch James Marsden in anything. He's barely in it though. Fortunately the robot and Frank Langella both shine in their roles.

Watched this last night. I've had a crush on Emily Mortimer since Match Point. This movie pre-dates that one. It was really well done. Just a nice life-affirming drama.

RIP Chip Taylor. Most famous for writing "Angel Of The Morning" and "Wild Thing", my favorite thing he did was team up with Texas fiddler Carrie Rodriguez and make three good albums. The second one, The Trouble With Humans, is one of the best records I've ever heard.

It was fantastic! I’m glad I saw it in IMAX but I think the amazing quality will still be apparent in any format for people who are used to That’s The Way It Is or Elvis On Tour. It’s night and day.
