Now rewatching- You Only Twice (1967). It’s not perfect and not quite up to the previous films, but it’s still top tier Bond.

Now spinning- Haydn piano trios 18, 19, 22. Performed by the amazing, Beaux Arts Trio.

Now rewatching- Thunderball (1965). It’s another classic 5/5 Bond film. Although not as great as the first three and a bit too much underwater stuff, it’s still pretty perfect.

Now spinning - The Pretenders- Learning to Crawl (1984). Another classic album from this great band. 5/5

Now rewatching,The Mist (2007), directed by Frank Darabont. This is my third viewing. First time I watched it I was disappointed, second time I really enjoyed it, let’s see what happens this time.

Now spinning- The Pretenders II (1981). Very good follow-up to their brilliant debut. Not on the same level, but still great. This album features my favorite song of theirs- “Message of Love” which is featured in my favorite film ever, Breathless (1983).

Playing this one again. My god, what a record!! It’s pure rock n roll perfection.

Now watching the greatest Bond film of all time, and well, simply one of the greatest films ever made. This is the one, the one that fully gets it, the one that is just as perfect as films get. 6/5

Now rewatching, From Russia with Love (1963). My Bond marathon continues with this top tier 5/5 certified classic.

Why the hell not, now rewatching all Bond films. Starting with Dr. No (1962). This is magic. 5/5

Just rewatched, Fire and Ice (1983) by Ralph Bakshi. I’m a fan of the director and I especially love his urban films Coonskin, Heavy Traffic and Hey Good Lookin, but I never connected to his fantasy stuff. Although I did find myself really enjoying this film this time around.

Now watching my favorite David Lynch film ever, so that means it's in my top ten favorite films ever list.

Now watching, Dracula (1931), on Svengoolie tv broadcast. Probably the most famous horror film of all time. I love it so much, but I’m a Frankenstein guy if I’m being honest.

Now rewatching the director’s cut of The Cotton Club (1984), also known as- The Cotton Club Encore (2019). Boy what a huge difference between the two. I really like the original, but I really love the Encore version way more. This is what Coppola intended. Half and half. A deeply wonderful film.

Now spinning- Sibelius Symphony No. 2, Eugene Ormandy conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra. Quadraphonic, baby!

Now watching- A Perfect World (1993). My favorite Clint Eastwood movie.

I just finished watching, Unforgiven (1992). It still holds power after so many viewings. It feels fresh and vibrant every time. Clint’s best film and my second favorite of his.

Now watching on, Svengoolie- The Gorgon (1964). Hammer film greatness.

I recently rewatched two fantasy action films from the 80’s, Krull (1983) and Dragonslayer (1981). I enjoyed them both, but I thought Dragonslayer was the superior of the two. That dragon looked amazing.

Now playing, Dwight Yoakam- Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc Etc (1986). One of my favorite country albums ever. Bakersfield sound in full force. My favorite “new traditionalist" album and artist.

Could this be the greatest "Buddy Comedy" film ever?

I just rewatched, Natural Born Killers (1994). A lot of people hate it, and I totally get that, but I think it's a very fascinating film. Great cast, amazing soundtrack, mind blowing editing, brilliant cinematography, great visuals, and Rodney Dangerfield giving an Oscar worthy performance.

Now watching, King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962), on Svengoolie, west coast feed. This is my first time watching since I was kid.

Now spinning, The Kinks- Everybody’s in Show-Biz (1972). I seem to play this album a lot more than their other albums. It’s not my favorite of theirs, but who knows what the future holds.

Now playing a very obscure and forgotten album by, the Mamas & the Papas, People Like Us (1971). It was badly reviewed and received, but I love it to death.

I just rewatched, Summer of Sam (1999), by Spike Lee. This film has so much potential, but it misses the mark. I really like it though, but the miscasting really flaws it up. John Leguizamo, who I love, is terribly miscast here. I don't buy him in this role at all. Brody too. Great soundtrack.

Now spinning, Harry Nilsson- Nilsson Schmilsson (1971). Harry’s masterpiece. So many songs here constantly used in movies and tv shows and commercials that you would think it would be played out. Nope! It still sounds fresh.

Now rewatching, The Burbs (1989). It'd been a long time, and I heard a podcast covering it, so why not. I remember rewatching this a lot on cable back in the early 90's. Also, Joe Dante!

Now spinning, Mozart - Piano Concerto No, 14 and 13, Alfred Brendel (piano) with, Neville Marriner conducting the Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields. Fantastic album!

My pick for best film of the year, One Battle After Another (2025). I'm pretty sure this will win the Oscar for best movie. I knew when I walked out of the theater back in September that was not going to see a better film.

Recent watch that really moved me, Train Dreams (2025), directed by Clint Bentley. Wow, what a gorgeous looking and beautiful film. Obviously influenced by Terrence Malick, but never feeling like a rip-off. A very profound and brilliantly acted film. 5/5

Now spinning, Murray Perahia Plays & Conducts Mozart: Piano Concertos Nos. 12 & 27. I love Murray. He had a soft touch that made his recordings poignant.
