We are facing the potential collapse of natural and socioeconomic systems in a world of unbearable heat, frequent extreme weather events, food and fresh water shortages, rising seas, more emerging diseases, and increased social unrest and geopolitical conflict.

To put simply, considering the globe as a whole, high clouds and cloud-free scenes result in warming of the Earth's atmosphere, as less energy escapes into space than arrives from the sun. For low clouds, it is the opposite: their decline leads to warming. (6/8)

Fossil fuels, like nuclear weapons, are a major global threat. The more groups, nations and cities join the call, the higher the impact. Endorse the concept as an organisation or individual at

My jaw hit the floor when I heard about Gaie Delap's case. A 77-year old peaceful climate protester threatened with being returned to jail...because they can't find a tag small enough for her wrists. As her MP, I have written to the prisons minister Lord Timpson.

I don't think our civilisation is going to survive the breakdown of climate & nature unless that's what we're actually trying to do You can't hit a target you're not aiming for, and it won't happen as a happy by-product of economic growth Survival, not growth, should be our organising goal
