TIL that most of the Bluesky app is built by a single engineer AKA @pfrazee.com And get this – Bluesky is on iOS, Android, and web. This goes to show how powerful React is – with a single codebase, you can build an MVP that has full cross-platform compatibility 🤯

The .blue TLD registry is about to make bank as Bluesky takes off 🚀 Apparently it's managed by Afilias, which is part of https://identity.digital/ You heard it here first.

Made an interesting discovery: Mentions on Bluesky are linked to your DID (Decentralized Identifiers), which means that if you change your handle, you won't break existing mentions (similar to Slack mentions). Read more about how identity works on Bluesky: https://atproto.com/guides/identity

Feature request for the @bsky.app team: I think it'd be really cool if we can keep our original .bsky.social handle after setting up a custom domain (to prevent impersonation). Bonus: Use multiple custom domains as handles and set a primary username that the others will rewrite/redirect to.

I've seen plenty of "Twitter alternatives" come up ever since the Musk acquisition – Mastodon, Farcaster, etc. But none of them have the unparalleled excitement & mainstream adoption that Bluesky has 🤯
