Conservatives only want freedom for a certain set of people. If they wanted freedom for all, they would be progressive.

There are two Americas: one fighting for white cis-het supremacy and one fighting for equality and inclusion. The first one lost for a while in modern times, so long that the second thought they didn’t exist anymore.

I hate to be the one to break it to Stephen King but this is what Trumpers have wanted all along. They wanted to keep the parts that benefited them (white supremacy) and trash the rest (DEI, equality, etc). You can trace this back decades through white evangelicalism.

If you think power grabs that result in the destruction of democracy is rational behavior, please deconstruct your patriarchy!
