February 26, 1996 Acclaim handled the home versions of NBA Jam. They wanted to keep cashing in on ports, but Midway hadn’t made a third Jam yet, so Acclaim slapped colleges in there just in time for March Madness. Soon after, the NBA gave Acclaim the rights to make more NBA Jam without Midway.
