We went back to a site that was restored about 2 years ago. It is very nice to see nice Sphagnum-rich pools have formed next to the peat dams. Sphagnum plugs are also doing great (now more than 200 times their initial size). Happy times 😀 #SphagnumMonday #GreatNorthBog

Really lovely post from Jack about our trip out to Fleet Moss. In the wider world, #Peatlands don't always get the love they deserve, so it really makes us happy when someone just *gets* it...

Like many of our interventions, coir rolls can look stark when they go in. Gradually, as rewetting takes hold, they are subsumed by the landscape. This roll already looks less bright, and bedstraw is starting to grow over it. In perhaps a couple of years, it will vanish under the #GreatNorthBog.

The sundews are flowering! The blooms are on such long stalks to keep pollinators up and away from the sticky, digestive end of things. This was on a visit to Fleet Moss, which is looking splendid and wet right now. So satisfying to see the #GreatNorthBog getting wetter and better!
