We’ve adopted our first PET .. 2001 .. Commodore. Wasn’t this inspired by the set of STAR TREK TOS? Word on the street is if the SPACE and R E T U R N keys are not worn it wasn’t used much, but the dymo and paper labels are curious.

I seem to have no spare working Amiga floppy drives around, so I just setup a Teac FD-235HF-3240 to work with the Amiga. If you have a 3XXX version of this drive, there are bunch of small jumpers: Set RY34 (Ready signal on pin 34) and DC2 (Disk change on pin 2.) Then set DS0, FG, HA, HF and NMK.

Spending a few hours at the Interim Computer Museum working on their NEC APC. It’s the first color model I’ve come across, and the first one with a full complement of cards (including the RAM expansion and hard drive controller!).

Commodore Pets 8032 are 1 Mhz 6502 processor based computers. Henke built a custom sound card for the pets dedicated to generate sounds. One pet is dedicated to video. One pet is dedicated to sequencing. All programmed in assemble language of course. Today’s live act:

but I’d like to hit some other nerdy places like: - Connections Museum - RE-PC - Ada’s Technical Books & Cafe (which sadly will close in a few months) Any other suggestions?

I'm rapidly closing in on being ready for
#VCFPNW
! Say hello to the NEC APC. It's an 8086-based computer that runs CP/M-86 & MS-DOS - yes, there were computers with 8" floppy drives that ran MS-DOS. It has a gorgeous 12" green CRT with (for 1982) phenomenal 640x494 graphics.

The centerpiece of my exhibit for
#VCFPNW
is ready! Meet the Sharp X68000 Super HD. It's powered by a 10MHz 68000, 2MB RAM, and a SCSI hard drive. It shared technology with arcade machines of the late 1980s so the catalog of arcade ports is excellent.

Another one is my exhibits for
#VCFPNW
is ready: Meet the Sharp MZ-2000! It’s powered by a 4MHz Z80, 64K RAM, has a super-crisp 10” CRT that supports 640x200 graphics, and gets my vote for sexiest computer of 1982. It has the optional expansion unit and very hard to find floppy controller!

Yesterday we had two guests writing programs in LISP on the Symbolics and C on MissPiggy (PDP-11/70) The lisp code attempted to read data from the serial port while the C code generated a Fibonacci sequence. This is what we are here for!

Surprised I came across some sketches I did not know I had scanned/archived. This is an early Glider sketch when the paper airplane was the more common kind. It looks like electrical outlets might have given you "shots", not destroyed you. Ceiling ducts were bad too. I have a few more I can post.
