In computing, year 2 had fun learning about how to take a good photograph. They explored the language ‘portrait’ and ‘landscape’ so we could choose the best way for our picture. They also learned about making sure they got everything in the image as well as getting it nice and clear.

The entries to the superhero competition have been amazing. Representatives of our 'Safe and Sound' committee work with the safeguarding leads at Oak Hill. Today they helped to judge the competition and winners will be announced soon. USE OUR POWER FOR GOOD.

It has been lovely to welcome Year 4 children from Tenacres, Matchborough and Arrow Valley first schools for a Team Ipsley Experience this week. They enjoyed visiting the Art room, the Science Lab and Year 5 to find out what life is like in a middle school.

Our CEO, Guy Shears, spoke at the Flourishing Trusts Network event Is Belonging Enough? on developing Our Distinctive Culture and the DfE West Midlands framework. Thanks to Claire Shaw, Emily Veroe, Claire Grainger, Phil Banks, Haili Hughes, Jacqui O’Hanlon, Andy Wolfe, and Graeme Robbins.

Reception have been busy printing ‘fireworks’ with paint and have been matching and counting numbers 1-5. The children have settled back into routines well and have enjoyed talking about their week off.

Year 4 have had a wonderful day learning all about The Anglo-Saxons and Vikings at Tamworth Castle. They took part in a range of workshops. The children had great fun and the castle staff and members of the public commented on their excellent behaviour and their wonderful manners.

Nursery have had a very busy week! At the start of the week, they made cards for a resident of a local care home who has turned 100 this week! To end the week, they had messy play with pumpkins!

In their final Art lesson of the unit this week Year 4 created large scale pictures of specific details from logs. They worked with a variety of media such as , wax crayon and pastels. Finally they washed their work with watercolours. We are soooo proud of their work. Well done Year 4.

On Wednesday 15th October, we hosted a Lyfta organised event with 16 trust leaders. The focus was on uniting communities through human stories, fostering safe spaces, and engaging in honest, coaching based conversations. A fantastic event led by Serdar Ferit, McKenzie Cerri and their team with us.

This week Reception have been looking at Harvest. They have learned that when we grow food, we have to harvest it to eat it. The children have thought about the foods that grow

On the 9th October our Student Charity Leaders presented a cheque for £10,979 to Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This amazing donation was a culmination of shared fundraising efforts of all schools and their students across the trust and builds upon the £10,000 raised for the charity this year.

Delighted to host ImpactEd at Assay Studios, Birmingham, for the first workshop of our research partnership group. Seven trusts came together to use research & evidence to improve outcomes for young people. Thanks to all involved & to ImpactEd for their insight 👉 impactedgroup.uk
