Long time since I posted - work has been nuts all month, and it's not over yet! In the very few off-hours I've had this month, been playing FFVII Rebirth PC at max settings w/ReShade and oh my gosh it is soo beautiful! Along w/some QoL mods, this run's blowing my PS5 playthrough out of the water!

I've been working with React DOM for years now, but only this past weekend decided to dip my toes into Native. Played a bit with the React Native framework Expo, built the tutorial app, and really digging the DX so far. Time to try building a little something real with it! 🤓 Super excited!

As a lifelong Ghibli fan, I'm ashamed for being so late on this - but I finally saw The Boy and the Heron. Really enjoyed it! Was happy to see that Miyazaki brand of fantasy again after the unusually grounded (but excellent!) The Wind Rises. Mononoke is still my favorite, though. 🌲🦌🌲

When I joined my current company, I was given the option to use my personal GitHub account or to make a new one just for work. I opted for the 2nd option - separation of concerns and whatnot - but kinda regret it? Really missing my green squares. I'm still pushing code every day, I promise!😭

Bummed that FFVII Rebirth didn't get GOTY, but I can accept Astro Bot. It's a good thing Rebirth won Best Soundtrack, though. The arrangements and new tracks are truly transcendental. Most exciting thing at TGA to me was the PC release of Rebirth next month. Can't wait to do a modded playthrough!

I attended several talks on using AI in JS apps at #CommitYourCode from @codestackr.com, Jacob Orshalick, and Jerry Reghunadh. I finally have an idea of how LLMs and RAG work under the hood. (Vectors are wild, yo) Excited to try building my own RAG AI feature into a future project! 🤖

Fear nearly kept me from joining #100Devs. Broke through and built the projects that got me hired. Fear kept me from taking online networking seriously. Broke through and met my future manager. Fear kept me from conferences. Broke through and have made invaluable friends and connections.

Sad realization that the #CommitYourCode Conference is actually over. The last 2 days have been nothing short of life changing. - Ran a conference for 500+ - Donated $10,000+ to charity - Saw old friends, made new ones - Gave a talk about Tailwind ...and we’re doing it again next year!

#CommitYourCode was wild ya’ll. It’s: Amazing this came together in 3 months. Incredible it raised $10,000+ in charity. Utterly humbling so many amazing humans still let me follow them around for 2 days straight.
