Installed a new dishwasher myself today See? I can do non-computer stuff too! And I know this is really small but stuff where I have to rewire & do some plumbing makes me think 'what else can I do around the house?' (Also, this non-fancy dishwasher is too fancy for me— it's got a light inside!)

As a data scientist, I'm 100% against using facial recognition models for law enforcement and judicial decisions. They are wrong way too often, and more frequently on racial minorities. This isn't how to run a just society.

Been pretty heads-down finishing Chapter 6 on implementing RLVR via GRPO. Just finished, and it might be my favorite chapter so far. Code notebook: github.com/rasbt/reason... (And it should be added to the early access soon.) The next chapter adds stability and performance improvements to GRPO.

Another Erdos problem announced solved by machine learning: github.com/teorth/erdos... From discussion, looks like it may have already been solved in prior lit. A weird thing about neural networks is that we can't actually tell if it used that source or not.

Yesterday I finished The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner— my 1st book I started & finished in 2026! After reading the main series, my friend & I decided to do a couple of these Twilight side stories for the lolz But not nearly as entertaining though compared to mainline stuff

Finished Learning the vi & Vim Editors, (8th ed) earlier this week. I constantly use Vim but I always feel like I could do more. Maybe it's because this was a book, but I felt this helped me more than videos in adding new patterns & commands to my flow. So happy I finally read this through!
