“AZT killed more people than AIDS” is false. I was a medical resident in the late 1980s. AZT wasn’t perfect, but it saved lives and was the first step on the way to modern HIV therapy. Evidence, history, and context here.

This isn't even a slight exaggeration. He is actively working on destroying the US's entire vaccine infrastructure. The HepB vote will be tomorrow, where they will get rid of the birth dose and recommend it at 30 days, dooming a bunch of infants to chronic infection ft. cirrhosis, cancer, and death.

So proud of my M4 mentee, Natalie Sturd, who was one of only two trainees selected to give an oral presentation at the Nebraska ID Society Conference today! She presented a case of KS-IRIS and highlighted the importance of honoring our patients through the learning process.

This is such an important shift. For many years the catholic church withheld support for HPV vaccination which prevents cervical cancer. 119,000 women die from this cancer in Africa every year. This full throated support of the HPV vaxx by the church will help uptake.

Doxycycline postexposure prophylaxis for bacterial STIs: Prescribing patterns, use, short-term outcomes among 2083 patients in a Los Angeles Federally Qualified Health Care Program, and implications for widespread use.
Rates of bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STIs) have risen dramatically over the past decades. Doxycycline postexposure prophylaxis (DP) is a novel intervention to prevent bacterial STIs. Recent randomized controlled clinical trials reported high DP efficacy at preventing syphilis and chlamydia in cisgender men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender women.
