So Begin Again is really lovely. Warm, witty, and wondrous, a nice little escapist dramedy. Great cast, damn good music.

Apparently they're jumping straight to the fifth book for this adaptation. I get skipping one and two, but the third? Boo.

And directed by Jim Mickle of all people. What an oddity this movie is, and it's not even out yet.

A ★★★★ review of Wait Until Dark (1967)
It pushes the bounds of plausibility a bit much, even within the confines of its own narrative, but I'll be damned if this isn't kind of a great little thriller. Claustrophobic, playful, and just a bi...

Calle Málaga is lovely. A warm, tender, funny, and at times somber look at hope, aging, and rekindling one's personal spark. Carmen Maura is superb, delivering a wonderful performance that is nothing short of magical.

Not perfect, but it's probably the cleanest run I've had at the Let it Be solo, and damn it, I feel proud about my progress.

Megadeth's new (and allegedly final) album is here, and it's... alright. Nothing outright bad on here, but it also plays it was too safe to really pop, with even the familiar elements feeling a little watered down. A passable metal album.

You never realize how weird a piece of music is until you look at the notation. There's this sixteenth rest in the Let It Be solo that feels so awkward to try and implement. In the actual song it sounds right, but when I practice my brain goes blrrrt.

Season 3 of Primal is off to a suitably gross and fascinating start. Not 100% sold on the direction it's taking so far, but I'm hoping Genndy can prove me wrong.

Dolores Claiborne is really great, a haunting thriller exploring abuse, strained relationships, and the damage that secrets can cause. Interweaves the past and present to masterfully fill in the viewer while also creating tension around what is reality or not. Fantastic performances all around.

42 is a really engaging, if slightly pedestrian sports drama. Robust storytelling, solid direction, and great performances keep it watchable. Chadwick Boseman in particular shines in the lead, playing Robinson with a quietly simmering intensity that is beyond riveting.

Took a while, but I finally finished The Count of Monte Cristo. Dragged a little in parts, but overall it's terrific. Absolutely deserves its accolades and shining legacy. Tragic, epic, suspenseful, and poetic, I loved it.
