Re-watched The Neverending Story for the first time since childhood and it still hits! Had no idea Giorgio Moroder composed the score until now, but it makes complete sense. Also first time hearing it in surround, which was nice! Assuming it was a remaster... whoever did it wasn't afraid to use lfe!

Sometimes, I can get stuck in a very regimented/self limiting mindset while recording #soundeffects. A #fieldrecording project with @atlassound.bsky.social helped break me out of that recently. Also, becoming a guy who carries a bag around... I now always have a recorder on me, which has helped!

I wrote a little tool a while back to automatically create/name a folder/subfolder structure for my work's post production projects, but it also works for field recording sessions along with a million other things, so I thought I'd share it! Sorry for all the blurring 😆 More in video description!

I've been slowly parting ways with Google, and that's involved transitioning to an email at my own domain. Setting up email clients on my computer & phone feels so retro but oddly satisfying. Something about email being it's own separate entity rather than a constant tab in my browser feels right.

Hey all, I put together a small REAPER script today. Takes selected items in the edit window, regions them, custom names them via a prompt and increments a number on the end. (_01, _02... _10, _11 etc) Super quick and tidy for personal projects where a basic naming convention works. #REAPER

Recording your own sounds is the best for #sounddesign. This is a (not great) recording of rolling a pool ball on guitar strings that I capture like ~15 years ago that came to mind while designing a scene. There's no library that you'll know better than the sounds you capture yourself!

Had no idea Raum (along with a few other NI effects) is free with "Komplete Start"! One of my favorite tools for "odd" verbs. Also fun to say. RaUm. RAAUUUMMM. raum.
