Un libro clave en la izquierda en la crítica a la Ilustración fue la Dialéctica de la Ilustración de Adorno y Horkheimer. Muchos la vieron como una crítica destructiva, cuando en verdad también sostenía que la libertad era inseparable del pensamiento ilustrado. El pasaje entero es muy interesante.
