I just spotted this front page today. I'll think you'll find the potty mouthed TV chef, Gordon Ramseys was actually raised in Bishopton, Stratford-Upon-Avon, NOT in the famous borough of New York City. Obviously, trying to make himself look "cool". More tabloid lies!

In 1936, music hall comedian Hector Thaxter caused uproar by becoming the first person to say "arse" on the radio. This afternoon, I heard somebody on Radio 4 say "sh*tting hell" Hector Thaxter, we salute you for getting the ball rolling ninety years ago to lead up to this moment.

I picked up this 1980 French single in a record store scavenge yesterday. I'm a sucker for obscure post-punk first revival ska tunes, because there isn't much of it. Not for everyone.

My favourite beginning to a 1970s TV mystery drama of the week. Going by their smugness and the title of the story, thatās them both dying horribly at the end then.

Chazza shop vinyl find of the week. I'm a sucker for novelty covers of pop songs played in an anachronistic style. I love Big Daddy; they were the '80s Mike Flowers Pops of their day. So, sue me. A doo-wop version of Devo's Whip It, anybody?

Prog 446 Nice pastiche of the old Commando war comics, although the pilot should've cried out the fuller, "Gott in Himmel!" oft exclamation, and perhaps added "Donner und Blitzen!" for extra authenticity.

I spotted this Dad birthday card in Sainsburys today. The pun doesn't work and the illustration is diabolical. This card wouldn't even be acceptable if my own child designed it. I'd even go as far to say if I received this card from my child, they would be put up for adoption.

I picked up this 1979 LP for a song in Spitalfields record market last Friday. 'Make It Safe' poem still resonates. Linked below. "They're selling hippy wigs in Woolworths" - Danny The Dealer in 1969 from the film, 'Withnail & I' (1987)

A new Brazilian movie about sentient killer lavatories is released this year. Privadas De Suas Vidas AKA Bowels Of Hell. This is annoying to the ten year old me who genuinely had this same idea for a horror film fifty years ago. I shouldn't have sat on it for so long.

Finally finished Stranger Things (or Smugger Things coz this season was very pleased with itself). Two thoughts: 1) Too many people in it all scrabbling for screen time. It was like The Expendables. 2) I could've sworn Brett Gelman channelled Phil Silvers into his character for his own amusement.
