Welp, I’ve just been introduced to Troma films. I had no idea what I was missing.

A previous co-worker messaged me today about a painting of mine she purchased four years ago. She put it in a frame this year and wanted to tell me how much she loves the painting. That made my day! I felt a lot of joy while painting it. Maybe it’s time to paint another. #watercolor #pumpkinart

It’s been a nice day! We just got to play Aang’s Destiny, and now it’s time for tasty food.

I’ve been trying to be more in tune with myself. With what I need on a basic-ish level. Being under the weather the last day or so, taking some time to rest and eat on repeat feels incredibly therapeutic. Sometimes it’s so simple.

Just finished my Jack-o-lantern! It’s in time for Halloween, but I plan to keep it up year ‘round.

Hot apple cider is one of my favorite fall comforts.

I practiced my violin again. This time felt cringier. I want the tone and ability I used to have. Back then, I practiced for a minimum of two hours a day, at least six days a week. I had lessons at least once a week. Then over 10 years of nothing. It’s gonna take so much practice and patience.

Today was the first time in about ten years since I practiced my violin. While I’m super rusty, it started coming back to me faster than I would have expected. It was surprisingly fun! Some of my finger tips are now blistered. It looks like I’ll have to build up calluses all over again. #violin

The dental saga continues. The pain in the infected tooth is worse today. My dentist just switched me to a stronger antibiotic. I have to be seen again tomorrow for them to open the tooth up. It sounds like the infection is too bad for me to wait until next week for my scheduled root canal.

I have been to the dentist three times in the last week. Once to have a tooth pulled, and now the last two times because I had a dry socket where the tooth was removed. I had to be numbed up each time, and this last time they had to stitch it up to keep a medicated dressing in place.

It’s funny. There are times my Imposter Syndrome flares up at work. Then right when I’m feeling like I’m the worst employee ever, I get unprompted feedback telling me that I’m actually doing well. It’s kind of a mind fuck.

Grief makes me feel crazy. It’s funny how the right decision for me can still cause me grief. It’s hitting me hard tonight. In part, grief for all the years I feel I missed out on happiness and being my true self. But also grieving things that feel like they shouldn’t matter. Rollercoaster.
