A recent bookstore find I’ve been loving. Really shows his freewheeling attitude and how he let on set inspiration create something beautiful.

I get obsessed with movies like Lost River. Because this movie does NOT work. It’s going for an arty route like Lynch or Panos Cosmotos, and it utterly fails. But WHY? Why is this a chore to sit through and yet I’ll sit down and watch Inland Empire with delight?

Sleeping in the buff means I entered this new year like I entered this world: naked. Slightly less gooey though.

I still don’t think it’s a Christmas movie though.

All the headlines about Trump’s Rob Reiner post should just be “demented old man desperate to be in the news”.

Been watching Robert Altman movies. For most of 3 Women, I kept wondering “why isn’t this just called 2 Women?”

I was trying to do some research in prep for Nolan's Odyssey next year, but this profile of Ulysses was just 700 pages about the sublime agony of being, the inherent fallibility of perception, and the tyranny of the British. Also my epub seems to be corrupted, a lot of punctuation is missing.

I’ve been asked this a lot lately, and after thinking it over, I’ll say this: It IS hot enough for me out here.

I was trying to put into words what was bothering me so much about that. Sometimes it feels as if to just exist we have to hear and see so much shit that sucks a little life out of us all. Maybe I just need to get out and touch grass a bit more.

Podcasts are my go-to thing to listen to while working. Probably why the slow burn of ads got to me. The other day I switched to an audiobook I had been meaning to get to. Just the consistent flow of the story, no jarring ad breaks, god that was so refreshing.

I’m very over podcasts with ads. I’d rather they hype extra content on a Patreon I could get into. I’m sick of 5 minutes of ads, 15 minutes of idle chat, then 5 minutes of ads, rinse and repeat. It’s soul killing after a while.
