How did my week go? Well I worked on making 200 4 & 5-leaf lucky clover pins to give away at the upcoming KSLA Conference (The Eyeball Alphabet Book is receiving an award, the Keystone to Reading Elementary Book Award for the intermediate level!) and I sold my second children’s book manuscript! 🥳

@johnnez.bsky.social has great pen suggestions, I want to add this pencil I stumbled onto. First, it has a cap so you won’t break the point off if you are out urban sketching. But then it has a mini sharpener that fits into the cap! And it comes with refills, though any of my drawing pencils fit. ✍️

The equation is: skill + time + luck. So the more books you write, the better your skills and the more books you have out in the world, waiting for luck to strike. Luck can't arrive unless you do the work. And even if you do the work well, that luck is never guaranteed. Which is slightly terrifying.
