UK billionaire wealth has more than doubled since 2010. Workers’ wages have barely risen since 2008. On Newsnight, I called for a tax on extreme wealth - that's the fairer alternative to cuts we need.

Even with the changes, the Disability Cuts Bill will see nearly half a million disabled people denied PIP over the next 4 years. MPs shouldn't vote to cut support for disabled people who'll need help cutting up food, washing or going to the toilet. I'm voting against the Bill.

Sadly the UC & PIP Bill as it stands will still impose brutal cuts, pushing huge numbers of people who desperately need support into poverty. It is clear that the Bill must be withdrawn. 👇

Disabled people’s organisations, including DPAC, Taking The PIP & Disability Rights UK, have rightly condemned Labour’s so-called “concessions” on disability benefit cuts. It’s not a concession to condemn future generations to less support. I’ll be voting against this Bill.

The Government should not be balancing the books on the backs of the poor and disabled. On @lbc.co.uk I called for a wealth tax instead. A wealth tax of just 2% on assets over £10 million would raise £24 BILLION per year. Let's tax extreme wealth, not punish the poorest.

At Prime Minister's Questions, I called on the Prime Minister not to cut support for disabled people and instead to introduce a Wealth Tax on the very wealthiest in our society.

We cannot have a situation where the lives of disabled people are made even harder. Those with the broadest shoulders should bear the greatest burden. On ITV Calendar, I explained my firm opposition to any cuts in benefits for disabled people.

£460 Million per WEEK - that's what we could raise with a 2% tax on any wealth above £10 million. Imagine the huge difference that could make to our communities and public services. Today I joined PatMillsUK bus touring the country to make the case for a Wealth Tax, not cuts.
