Ember actually hates snow😭 though his magic raises his body temperature even when not in use, it’s still more difficult to control if his surroundings are too wet. And then he gets cold too easily. You’d have to force him to even be out in the snow, and he’d immediately lose a snowball fight.

A character who, despite hopeless odds and not even believing it’s possible, still tries to reach their dreams. Especially if they’d already given up on theirself. Being able to find a single foolish reason to keep trying. To want to fight for their own happiness even at impossible odds.

They both switch depending on their mood. Ember doesn’t have much of a preference, he just likes being told what to do, but may be expected to top based on appearance. Cal just wants to have control, but because it’s more associated with topping, he often has to default to that.

Embers always has an rbf unless he’s comfortable. Though once he unmasks, he’s an open book. Cal is always pretty good at controlling his features. He’s usually aware of how he’s presenting himself and why. But can be genuine if he really trusts you enough to be vulnerable.

When Ember was in his 20s, he had a sort of rival who was also aiming to become captain alongside him. The two had a very messy fwb / rivals thing going on. (They’re unfortunately yet another old koa OC im reworking, so i haven’t posted them before. This may not even stay canon😭)

Ember was SUCH a nuisance of a prankster as a kid. He messed with people all the time- a lot of adults in town HATED his pranks😭 he and the other kids were pretty mean to eachother too. He can still joke with or tease friends, but is a lot more serious now, and only does so in good faith.

Earliest oc I can remember consistently drawing was maybe 2015ish?? So 11 years ago His name was Thunder Mods. An ender dragon guy who liked swords and being mysterious. He was what got me into making OCs and stories, as well as drawing :) (He’s at fnaf in this picture)

Maybe Cal could, but only when he’s feeling optimistic. He kind of bullies himself into not believing things that sound silly to him. Ember just doesn’t get it?? Despite being religious, he thinks of relationships as chance. Love could be found in anyone, so the idea of soulmates confuses him a bit

Ember likes red velvet cake but won’t admit it. It’s not that interesting? But he wont go out of his way to be somewhere fancy enough to have any, so he pretends not to care. But if an event has it, he’ll always end up with a plate at some point.

Ember definitely has a rbf, plus he’s generally closed off and curt towards those he’s not super familiar with. So most palace-goers assume he’s a lot meaner than he is. He’s also not very good at having polite small talk, so he tends to leave a bad impression when he ends things abruptly 💔

Ember is a different case. He doesn’t outwardly expect anything of those around him, and more so says it as his job to help others with nothing in return. But really he hopes the people he cares for also care about him. And is quietly very deeply hurt if they leave or take advantage of him.

Cal is VERY particular about who he surrounds himself with, specifically to prevent this before it happens. He can be friendly acquaintances for the sake of his social standing, but he will be openly cold or hostile if you manage to deceive or harm him. He does not forgive and forget easily.

Most of those in Ash are descendants of dragons, but most have been unable to use magic or shift into their dragon forms for centuries. Ember unlocks this ability later, but Cal is assumed to be one of those unable to. Though they don’t yet realize he is not actually the same species at all.

Cal was a more quiet and anxious kid. He and his mother had just moved into town so he didn’t know anyone else. Because he was so shy, the other kids thought he was boring. It wasn’t until Ember met him and started helping him feel included that Cal slowly started to feel happier and more himself.

Ember was very angry and very aggressive as a kid. He fought a lot with the other kids in his neighborhood, and was outside causing trouble most the time. He got fussed at by his mom a *lot*. He went willingly when he was drafted, though he’s grown to regret leaving things the way he did.

Cal: Spa day, a visit to the pastry shop, reading an erotic romance at snails pace, sleeping all day, breakfast for every meal. Ember: checking out a bunch of books and reading all of them, visiting the beach, sunbathing naps, having a drink with a friend, early morning gym/run

Ember wears whatever he has lying around🤢 Usually a loose shirt + loose pants. Or no shirt. He would’ve loved sweatpants, plaid pajamas, and old graphic tees 💔 Cal likes to wear any of his collection of robes/nightgowns. If he’s really lazy, one of Ember’s shirts, but he still likes to feel clean

I don’t think it’s very irrational?? But Ember has a fear of large bodies of water. He likes the beach but refuses to get on a boat. Though he never has to anyway, cause Ash is self isolated from the rest of the world He can swim but gets horribly seasick on boats😭 incapable of functioning seasick.

Ember eats the same few meals he can cook every single day of his life. He’s happy with it and likes the repetition. He could try other foods, but is still happy as is. Cal is willing to try almost anything. He he’s a sweet tooth though, so his favorite treats are sweets and cakes and pastries.

Ember doesn’t tend to hate people but Cal’s dad is definitely up there. Cal’s dad has a general distaste for Ember (and his family) but doesn’t actually care that much. Cal hates a lot of people, most of it directed at the King or his dad. Neither knows him well enough to hate him back.

Ember likely gets annoyingly wistful. Will spend the day sighing and staring off at the distance and looking at the locket he carries around. But he’ll be fine😔 Cal gets easily impatient and agitated. He’s checking his watch and tapping his foot and in a general hurry to get out of what he’s doing.
