I made red beans and rice last tonight, but subbed the sausage for chicken thighs and the rice for pasta. Usually I make roux but I skipped that too. I now realize I just made chicken noodle soup with beans.

I sincerely love it when creatives warn about the costs of generative AI models. I am a bit less delighted when those warnings are tempered with statements that AI is actually useful for science and medicine though because an academic friend of theirs ran PyTorch in an attempt to get grant money.

the complexity of personal landscaping and its normalization is crazy to me. So many of us are spending our minimal free time landscaping, when we could be playing Fortnite...

After 8 years of not exercising, I started lifting weights 2 years ago. I started my journey benching 45 lbs for 10 reps. Today I benched 150 lbs for 3x10. A slow journey, with some injuries along the way, but i am proud of this. Lifting has been life changing for my mental health.

i have an entire album done, to slowly release over the comings months and i'm procrastinating on it.

I enjoy making music, but it feels smeared by 1) the fact it is a shit paying job and, then by extension, 2) my perpetual, often irrational, fear of not being able to pay my bills.
