1 in 3 UK children live in poverty. Sadly, the figures are much higher for many children of colour. The scrapping of the two child benefit cap is welcome, and long overdue. Children should never be punished for political failures. Civil society shouldn't have had to campaign so hard for this win.

‘Damning’ review of anti-Black racism within Met police ‘buried’ by force

The official police recorded hate crime figures for 2024/25 have been released, with really stark reporting. Between April 2024 and March 2025, there has been a 6% overall increase in racial hate crime, and a 3% overall increase in religious hate crime, compared to the previous 12 months. 👇
