Preemptive use of the Notwithstanding Clause by governments is an admission of failures. Failure to design policies and laws that can meet legislative and judicial tests and, more importantly, failure to respect the place of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms in the lives of Canadians.

Don't confuse me with the facts; I have a theory.

How are we ever going to jack up artificial outrage in this country if the Prime Minister keeps providing well-reasoned arguments for Canada's policy positions? Elbows up, but brain still engaged.

'Culture' can be a bit of a minefield in a post-colonial country like #Canada. But I have to agree with Thomas d’Aquino and Susan Peterson d’Aquino that culture needs to be a key element in the country's reorientation as old alliances slip and new identities are formed. #culture #policy #story
