Back to school this year has sucked balls so hard. Today's only day three and one of my coworkers has been stressing so hard she's made herself sick. I've been so tense my neck's been killing me and I've had massive headaches. I can't imagine how bad I'd be without my anxiety meds.. Geez. -_-

Had to give "fun facts" about myself for a staff meeting. The other staff were supposed to guess who the facts were about. One of mine was the time I spent a week in China, on tour with a band. My boss was shocked. "How have I known you for 13 years and never known that?" Never came up?

I have little baby hair sticking up all over my head. While this means that my hair is indeed growing back it ALSO means that in general my hair appears to be a frizzy mess. Humidity doesn't help. I've accepted that this is just going to be a bad hair year.

I've been giving myself a massive headache trying to solve a work issue. It's been several days and of course the business office didn't give me the answer I wanted to hear, which just made things more difficult for me. Turns out I do my best thinking in the shower when I'm half awake. Solved it!

I also have to say that some of the things I'm proud of my dad for are really, really sad. He didn't misgender or dead name my cousins. He very obviously danced around it and avoided using pronouns and names altogether, but hey! Progress?

Parents have left. I'm free! Rufus knows what packing is. He knows it means I'm leaving him for.. well probably forever. While the parents were packing up their stuff, my snuggly lovebug refused to let me stop touching him. Now that they're gone and I'm still here, he wants nothing to do with me 😅

The parents got here several hours before they were supposed to, while I was still at work. My father cannot sit still. He mowed my lawn and cleaned my kitchen. I gueeeesss that worth the hugs they'll make me take. 😅

My boss is trying to figure out how to bribe building administrators. They never freaking read their emails and most don't give her the info she needs by the time she needs it. Right now the current bribe is a cookie tray. Nutrition Services, bribing everyone with food.

So it's been a while, huh. Turns out I have a lot less spoons these days than I used to. -_- Family reunion happened last week. It was about as expected. Loved seeing my family, hated where we were. I was reminded yet again that while I love my Dad he's still a huge asshat in many ways. -___-

I got my statement for my hospital stay. $162,394.04 for 15 days. My mother thinks that does not include the bill for radiology, etc, since those are usually billed separately. Thankfully I do have insurance through work, so the "only" part I have to pay is $2,000. American healthcare. 😑

I think Krampus really wanted me to stay home today. Right when I was about to get out of bed, he came and sat on me. I reached into the drawer to grab a pair of socks? He grabbed my hand. I am currently exactly where I've been twice before and then slipped back a step. I'm so tired of being in the hospital and today is a very crucial day, a make or break sort of thing. I was cautiously optimistic yesterday, but today I'm just anxious. Food, please stay down. Please. 🤞

This is day... I don't even know what day. Starting on day 9 in the hospital, day 14 of being sick. I'm so tired of this. Tired of my body getting better but still not doing what it's supposed to. Tired of doctors saying "you are improving but we have no idea why you still can't keep food down".

I think everyone over here knows already, but just in case. Currently in the hospital and have been since Saturday. Pneumonia and acute pancreatitis. I've been very ill since last Monday, so I'm really over this shit lol But they're taking good care of me. I'm up to clear liquids now, yay!

Nothing irritates me more than having to deal with out tech department. Coming back to work after nearly a week off to an asinine email from a tech bro who knows nothing about anything has completely undone all the good the time off did. Yay.

Part of my job is sampling new products before we put things on the menu for the kiddos. Sometimes it's great fun and the samples are delicious! Sometimes, like today, I spit things out. Bleeeeeeech! Kids should be grateful my taste buds go through hell so theirs don't have to XD

Spent an hour talking tech and at one point he brought up gaming as we waited for something to reboot, like I knew he would. He asked if this was a judgement free zone, to which I said of course! He's been playing Disney Dreamlight Valley. Whatever gets you through the day, my guy. No judgement! 👍

My poor brother got to hear me yell and swear yesterday after I had to deal with Tech again yesterday. Person #4 didn't give me a name, but DID give me a phone # to call them on. This morning I pulled up my district phone sheet and... The person assigned that number is (was?) my fav tech person....

lol tech update. So it got shipped up to a guy I've worked with before, who seemed to know his shit. He replied, with a link to my case ticket in his email, and asked "Can you clarify why you need this updated? Is it hindering the usage of any program?" ...did you not READ the ticket at all...?

Work crisis averted thanks to a lovely tech support person who listened to me and followed my suggestion when she couldn't immediately figure out the issue. I've worked with her before and she is by far my favorite tech support person, so cheerful and kind. She never treats me like an idiot.

Snow day = work remotely day = joining my brother on his stream for Civ 7 day! And of course when I was actually working, tech shit goes wrong and now I'm waiting to hear back on the fix for the issue -_-

Since I have to be at work today and thus can't play Civ until I get home, the only thing I'm all 🤨 about right off the bat is the number of achievements. I am an achievement whore, okay. 37 does not seem like nearly enough for a Civ game. 😒

Civ day! Civ day! I've watched two people play it. One really enjoys it and has been playing every day since advanced access. The other did not, grumbling and complaining the entire time they played it. The older I get the less tolerance I have for that sort of bullshit. Eyeroll.

I blew my own mind about a DATV theory that popped into my head earlier this morning and I'm more upset about it than I should be. 😅 I'm more upset about the fact that it's been three months and I just now had the thought than anything else.

I overslept this morning, waking up around the time I should have left the house. When I got to work I noticed I'd missed a call. Turns out it was from my youngest brother who called on his way home from work last night. His VM was him singing my name to the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah 🤣

I got a call from a former employee who helps a lot of the Spanish speaking families in the community. She said she's received at least 10 calls this morning already because food stamp and WIC cards aren't working and families wondered if they needed to start paying for school lunch now too.

And now for something completely different. I walked into the bathroom this morning and notice my razor wasn't where I left it. In fact, it was nowhere I could see at all. I decided it wasn't worth the effort this morning, that i would find it when I got home, only to find it on the kitchen floor..

I hope everyone finds new, fulfilling, well paid jobs where they are supported and properly cared for. I'm not a fan of physical contact, but I want to hug all of you so tightly.

I did not need to start my day by crying, but here we are.
