In many countries, food prices are rising faster than overall inflation. This matters because poor families who spend more of their income on food may be forced to skip meals or compromise on nutrition. This is an ongoing crisis, not a temporary spike, undermining affordability.

Speaking of IEEPA tariffs, Bloomberg's ace SCOTUS reporter @gregstohr.bsky.social says we can all stand down for a while. "The court is preparing to begin a four-week recess, and under its usual procedures for releasing opinions, the next potential day for a tariff decision is Feb. 20."
