OSF is operated nonprofit and overseen by scientists, no? I find some of the recent talk about it a bit off the tone. This one is witty, fine but, some others I have seen are a bit too harsh.

The 'private solution trap': Why richer countries may favor adaptation over public solutions, and who pays
A new study, led by the University of Nottingham and conducted by a team of 72 economists and psychologists across the world, has identified a potential "private solution trap" in problems requiring international cooperation such as climate change.

Which economy is more productive - Germany or the US? It seems the answer would be clear, but it's not. The mood in Germany is so deeply negative, even aggressively pessimistic, that I thought we had fallen behind by a lot. But here are the facts - they surprised me as well:

I received a review request from a Frontiers journal. The mail included only accept and reject buttons for taking up the review, without any deadline information, or the manuscript itself (just abstract). When I clicked accept, it assumed accept (although revertible), due in 10 days. Never again.

âData is not available upon requestâ: the latest paper finding, of articles stating that data were available upon request, only 17%âŠshared data upon request. đ Seriously stop doing this. Put it in a repository while itâs fresh; it will only get *less* convenient to share as time goes on, not more.

"Most of the people who are successful are doing x" is not an argument for x, however frequent Harvard Business Review and the likes would repeat. You need to know the outcome of the alternatives to x. This is a statistical issue. Then there is "most of the CEOs are male" kind of issues.
