On the 19th at 16:30 CET we will host a Tic-80 byte jam, similar to the ones on the @field-fx.party Twitch channel On the 21st at 19:30 CET we will also host a demoscene showcase, featuring our favourite demos from 2025. In addition to this we will be doing a Q&A session between each of the demos

This octree tracer idea was one of the very first things I tried doing at the @field-fx.party shader jams when I started, finally have a version of it that works! #demoscene

For this week's @field-fx.party shader jam, I extended my fragment shader pathtracer to use cosine-weighted sampling and support multiple spheres. plus a small box blur ('we have restir at home'...) Catnip suggested a cute little rolling shutter effect to make the spheres wobbly.

iteration 2 from this week's @field-fx.party #TIC80 jam. each emitting particle is pushed tangentially by a different VQT bin. gravity and damping keep them orbiting, and they get randomly teleported back to the centre ring sometimes, biased to quiet bins.

I was lucky enough to see EON live when it was first shown, and the location basically exploded - it was like being at a World Cup final. The talk shows how much effort and _ambition_ you need to achieve that, and I love that he highlights "we did this because we wanted to destroy the competition".
