I work two days a week doing inpatient palliative care consults. The hospital is on a nice little campus, nestled in a historic neighborhood. Part of that neighborhood is the cemetery behind the hospital. A nice peaceful place to take a walk during the work day. #hapc #lcsw

Had a very meaningful visit in the home of one of my community based palliative care patients. This person has a very limited prognosis and is hoping for life prolongation with current treatment. Tearful visit for them and their spouse as they grapple with when to change focus.

Well before this CEO’s tenure, we experienced a claim denial by United Healthcare. My younger son went into respiratory distress at our local hospital and required transfer to Dornbecher Children’s Hospital pediatric ICU. He was about 2 weeks shy of his 2nd birthday.
