In general, I think that people don't realize that a large chunk of Magic's staying power is "we're the functional ones." Need to enter a Spotlight? The portal probably won't crash. Wanna play a large regional? Yeah, lines won't take four hours to get in the door. Events actually function.

I love how in the first 5 decks of every new Yoman set dump, you see something and think "yeah this would eat a first-week SCG Open alive back in the day." And then I start to miss large week 1 tournaments.
