Onto vol 3 of 示見之眼 and 以洋continues to be the heart of the novel. I'm glad there's not much side couple screentime for now and more focus on his journey. He has some heartwarming platonic relationships with female characters and his conflict/tension with the two other shou remains compelling

I find that many negative reviews I see about Adultery Contract (in whatever language) dont like it because they don't like Professor Shao and find him incomprehensible/disagreeable, but that's what makes him such a fully realised character for me. He is quite literally designed to challenge you.

Idk why but 春 and Karaoke iko remind me of each other. Maybe it's the bizarre encounter between two people as the premise. Or the fact that both have an X-Japan song as a recurring motif (Forever Love/Kurenai). Or the separation lol

I've seen that hilarious mistranslated title "Evil Love Appears" so many times by now that I've been influenced into thinking it's more catchy and memorable than "Miraculous Love" 😆

My fave thing about 最時尚的愛情 as a love polygon novel is that it actually doesn't avoid common tropes. It doesn't end in 3p, has a proper 2nd ML and a female love rival who pull petty tricks. but it's within a believable scope and somehow makes them more human rather than hindering narrative progress

For me, 春 is a pure conceptual novel, Adultery Contract is between the two, while 最時尚的愛情 is an interpersonal drama with fully realised, messy people

Chef's Choice by TJ Alexander -ST4T faking dating romcom. ML is rich celebrity chef's son who asks FL (who just lost her job) to help him. They have to cook his grandfather's recipes to prove himself as the heir -I usually don't like fake dating but there isn't much angst surrounding it here so idm

Reading vol 1 of 示見之眼 which is apparently Shi Wu's most famous and best work, and also a classic Taiwanese supernatural BL. And it's actually really good so far lol

Hornet Code by Towei -I can tell it's intentionally written for a gen audience which i feel limits the writing (a common thread for most of her commercial works) -but i do think it's a great thriller up until that scifi twist -the supporting cast are all interesting and rounded, especially 莫思 謝米 江燄

If you want a manga with a confident, fashionable plus-size female lead, I just read Goddess of Lingerie by Yuni & it’s much more empowering than Plus-Sized Misadventures in Love. And the female lead doesn’t look like a fucking caricature of fat women.
