Any suggestions for how and where to organise a promotional tour for my new book? Fellow scholars and writers seem to have extensive tour dates - how did you organise it?

One thing that you suddenly notice when on holiday abroad is that there are no constant announcements, warnings, instructions anywhere. I don't think I've heard or seen such an announcement the entire time here in Portugal. They just trust you to be a responsible adult with some risk awareness.

If you're into birdwatching, the fish restaurant at the edge of playa de fabrica, on the eastern Algarve, is a great spot.

I initially had a whole section in my new book about Inspector Caminada's efforts against anarchist protests in Manchester, including a standoff at what snow a roundabout in Ardwick. I had to cut it out because my word count was ballooning. I'll find somewhere else to put it.
