While the ceasefire appears to be holding, it’s not clear that enough humanitarian assistance is getting to those in desperate need, and we know the devastation to be addressed in Gaza is generational. American aid must reach civilians without delay and requires real oversight.

Again, the goal for this administration isn’t to counter antisemitism or protect Israel. It’s to weaponize antisemitism to go after their political enemies, advance an extreme agenda, and undercut democracy — and it only makes Jews *less* safe.

1. This decision to cut millions in funding to Columbia is dangerous and not going to help counter antisemitism on campus. If anything it might just make the problem worse.

1. Trump’s plan to displace Palestinians from Gaza and have the U.S. to take it over is crazy & will never happen. But my big concern is that he just dramatically complicated negotiations on phase II on the ceasefire and hostage deal increasing the likelihood the war restarts.

Today’s meeting with Netanyahu is a test for Trump: Will he draw the line against a return to war? Or will he be played by Netanyahu or others who are seeking to sabotage the ceasefire and hostage deal? 🧵

We welcome the Commission on Civil Rights investigation into antisemitism on campuses. And we are particularly proud that Mondaire Jones, longtime J Street friend, will lead the charge. Jewish students, and all students, deserve to learn free of fear.

We will continue to oppose efforts to score political points in the American domestic arena by attacking the Court and its legitimate place in the international legal order.

Whatever one thinks of the merits of the specific case being prosecuted against PM Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Gallant and whether one believes the Court has jurisdiction or not, there are other ways for Congress to express its disagreement with the Court’s decisions.

We have a deep, communal interest in establishing global norms and enforcing them, a need more crucial than ever as we witness the re-emergence of fascism around the world once again.

Jewish leaders in the field of international law had an important role in the establishment of the Court, which can trace its roots to the prosecution of Nazi war criminals at Nuremberg following World War II.

We believe in the international rules-based order that has maintained global stability since World War II. America’s interest should be in strengthening and expanding that system – reforming it where necessary – and not in bringing it down.

We share many of the concerns of those who voted ‘no’ – specific ones about the bill’s poor drafting and general ones about sanctioning an international institution because one disagrees with its decisions.
