So, bad health day, so I decided to stop doomscrolling and read a real book, an actual physical book. I picked one, looked at it, saw the first page and my brain went. 'Oh God, there's a map. I can't cope with that.' Now I'm just going to bed.

Went to #TheRoebuck tonight. Lovely pub, we go there whenever we come to Richmond, but nearly had a heart attack at the round. A pint and a medium glass of wine £15.10! Bigger surprise was that the wine was from Kent and it was absolutely lovely. Chapel Down I believe. Recommend pub and wine.

Have just spent the last hour and a half crying over the ending of "Crooked Kingdom" by Leigh Bardugo. That was breathtaking. Hats off to you Ms Bardugo, you did your job so well. #CrookedKingdom #6ofCrows

This book was first published before I was born and for because I was told my writing style was like hers, I never read it. Now I'm reading it and I wish I'd read it years ago, I'm loving it.

this is kinda funny and kinda not. Guessing it's from Private Eye.

Had a fabulous time in Warwick Castle yesterday, but my plimsoll apparently wasn't so happy. I need new shoes. After nearly melting in the heat so I couldn't concentrate, came outside and sat in evening shade from 8pm, managed to write 4381 words. A good day.

It's half ten and so far I've written 2371 words, read 30 pages and had a bath. Cat got me up at 04:30 this morning. Time to do some editing, book two of Atkins and Palmer.

Today I am experiencing that stupid feminine dichotomy of caring vs. working. I was caring for my daughter so I shouldn't feel guilty that I got no work done. But I do. Mind I'd feel way worse if I'd worked and not been there for her. #awomanslife (She's fine, no drama, all good)

Wow! Just finished "When the Moon Hatched" by Sarah A Parker. Wonderful book and I'm looking forward to the next installment. Also wanted to show the bookmark and thank TE Kinsey for the gift - love it and it works so well with a hardback.

Beautiful day outside. So I thought why not take a book out, sit in the sun and enjoy it. Why not? Getting sun burn in 15 mins that's why not. Shoulder hurts now. 😕 So this is me hiding the shadows, enjoying my book. Totally understanding how Raeve feels in the rain. #verybritishproblems

Will be 6 weeks post op tomorrow, so time to start exercising again. I was just moving around the house, doing parts of the Susan Powter's Lean Stong and Healthy (remember that?). Couldn't do all of it, warm up, a little of the fat burn and all the cool down I needed. I will build my fitness level.

2 hours of market research, five loads of washing done, 15 mins of exercise (I'm working my way up to a fitness level) and 2,800 words written. I need a nap now. #WritersLife

Apparently I'm not allowed to do any more research until I've fed the cat.

Brought a new notebook today because (a) there's no such thing as too many notebooks and (b) it was only £2.50

Now 4 wks post-op and yesterday actually managed to get into a car and go out. Ok only a 5min drive, but good to know it wasn't excessively painful any more.

I love staying home to read/write. But for 3 wks I've not left the house. I want to scream. I'm 3 wks post hysterectomy can't walk far or get in a car-a seatbelt would hurt. I need at least another 3 wks recovery, but feel lousy, because, the absolute worst is, I lack concentration to read or write.

Happy Star Wars Day all!

Today, 3 days post op, and I feel inexplicably tearful. That said, a physiologist friends has explained to me that this is perfectly normal post-op. Rhe adrenaline and cortisol spikes of the past 2 days have gone, so body + emotions will do weird things. Guess I'm not inexplicably tearful after all.

Operation went well. Pain the bearable range. Hopefully will be pain free in future. Thank God for the NHS.
